Vail Colorado Hotels and Lodging Guide
Vail hotels and resorts tend to cater to a wealthy clientele. Many
visitors prefer to rent condominiums or private homes when visiting
the ski resort, a sign that Vail accommodations are decidedly upscale.
However, there are a large variety of standard rooms available at
Vail hotels and resorts, allowing visitors to choose what best fits
their budget. Regardless of your choice, the comfort and service
provided at Vail hotels, resorts, inns, and bed and breakfasts
make money easy to part with.
Visiting Vail Colorado
Visiting Vail In 1957, Peter Seibert (a Tenth Mountain Division veteran)
and Earl Eaton (a ski enthusiast) ascended to the top of Vail Mountain
and discovered its Back Bowls – 4,000 acres of open glade ecstasy
for skiers. Five years later, Vail was reborn as a premier ski destination
– consistently ranking among the finest ski resorts in America ever
since. It lures as many European visitors as Americans, giving the
vacation spot an international ambience that distinguishes it from
other Colorado ski resorts. Even nonskiers seek winter hotel accommodations
in this Tyrolean village, because it offers chic shopping, ethnic
and innovative cuisines, and
activities such as ice skating, snowshoeing, and tubing on Adventure Ridge. Vail, a four-season resort, simply
switches gears once the warm months arrive. Gondolas carry mountain
bikers and hikers instead of skiers up to scenic mountain trails;
rivers unfreeze for rafting and trout fishing; and the wilderness
surrounding Vail turns into a treasure chest of colorful wildflowers,
sparkling lakes, and cascading waterfalls.
